A week of music making in the beautiful scenery of Bath!
We started with day workshops, then weekends, and now we are going even further with a whole week of music making. What could be better than spending a week in the beautiful City of Bath? Well, spending a week in Bath making incredible music with an inspiring group of people! You can do exactly that in August 2026 with the BLSO and for a lot less than you would think. The main photo above shows our venue, the absolutely gorgeous Prior Park College, designed by John Wood, which overlooks the National Trust owned gardens with the famous Palladian Bridge, shown here in the foreground. The bottom photos show the Prior Park Chapel and the centre of Bath. Escape into the world of Jane Austin and make music with emergency services personnel, culminating in public performances in this UNESCO World Heritage City.
You will join a symphony orchestra, choir or jazz band to rehearse during the week, with plenty of time to relax and explore the City of Bath. Towards the end of the week will be three public performances. A choir concert in the chapel at Prior Park, a jazz gig in Bath and then a final concert at the Forum where everyone will be involved in a performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony and a piano concerto with the fabulous pianist Ivana Gavric.
As always, our focus is on mental health, so when you are not making music you will be able to use the venue's gym and swimming pool, take in the Bathskyline walk, go for a run, enjoy Prior Park gardens or take part in one of our yoga or sound therapy sessions. All this will be included to ensure this week nourishes your body and soul.
The week, scheduled to run from the evening of the 9th to the morning of the 16th August 2026, is likely to cost around £500 per person, including accommodation, tuition by professional tutors and all meals. We are hoping to fund some places for emergency services personnel who may be able to attend for less, or even for free!
